Summer Talk

I'm not sure if it's the heat, or the middle schooler in me that just wishes I could sleep in till 10 everyday,  lounge pool side till I fry,  walk to the Village to eat froyo and load up on hair bows at Claire's.
Tis Wildfox Couture's "You're a Doll Summer 2010" line that perfectly expresses how I feel in the summer...

The World is Yours

Early May I spent a week in sunny Florida celebrating none other than my baby bro´s Bachelor of Economics from Rollins College. I could not be more proud. For all of you graduates this May, I tell you in the words of the wise Dr. Seuss, Oh! The Places You'll Go

"Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go."

Dre sprinting outta there!

Congrats Class of 2010, the world is yours.

InFANity...

How big of a fan are you? Is anyone else besides me going to the 12:01am screening of S&C 2 tonight? If I don't end up catching Z'zzz's before then, I hope I'm enjoying the flick surrounded in fans sporting these....

Camillitarry Man

Who What Wear May style tip:
"Wear Military jackets with everything."
I must admit I admire the look, but have yet to find one that I like, most of the military jackets I've come across aren't very flattering, I usually appreciate a tailored design to my jackets or blazer so that they cinch at the waist.

"Tip #2: Wear army jackets with everything.
Just in case you needed more proof that the army jacket is
the key outerwear piece this season, we're happy to share yet another stylish example. Lily Donaldson—one of our favorite British beauties—looked marvelous in a Rag & Bone Ohara Jacket ($520) at the NOWNESS-hosted premiere of Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child at the MoMa late last month. The always fashionable supermodel looked enviable stylish in her cuffed jacket paired with vintage finds and a Sonia Rykiel bag. If you've yet to source your own military-inspired topper, no worries, we've rounded up a few for your shopping pleasure. Currently the WhoWhatWear.com office is obsessed with the Ecote Surplus Jacket ($78)—it's so affordable and darling, no wonder so many staffers own it! Kill City's Hooded Army JacketItalian Parka ($110)." ($110) is also a fabulous choice, as is Asos Reclaimed's" - Who What Wear

Tee Pee

So I know CATW is supposed to be all about fashion and shopping and so on....but for my 100th post I thought I would share with you the coolest summer toy ever. How amazing would it be to camp out in this Tepee, or just to have this in your backyard? Perfect for a Memorial Day Camp out!

"For adventurers of all ages, the classic Tepee (2008) is a simple solution for spending time outdoors with minimal impact on the surrounding landscape. This one was crafted for DWR Tools for Living by Dave Ellis, who spent 10 years working in the canvas business before creating his own line of tents and tepees in 1982. We chose his work because of his quality materials and construction that provides proper ventilation, flame resistance and reinforced stress points. What’s also unique about this design is the sewn-in floor liner that allows proper air flow, while ensuring that nothing accidentally leaves or enters the Tepee. This floor also makes it easier to see where the poles should be placed when building the Tepee. The floor liner is not waterproof, which Ellis did on purpose since material that breathes won’t kill the grass underneath. The exterior canvas is tightly woven, preshrunk 100% cotton Army Duck that’s finished with a Sunforger baked-in process to make the canvas mildew resistant and water repellent. Campfire songs and ghost stories not included. "- Design Within Reach

Clogged Up

One of my favorite summer shoe trends is the clog. Not only does it bring a little bit of a hippie accent to your ensemble but the closed toes allow you to wear them through the fall, and well, if you live in tropical climate like Houston, the winter as well.

Clogs are everywhere this spring and summer and I finally have an ultimate crush on a few pairs...

I Wanna Play

The past couple of years I've steered clear of rompers a.k.a playsuits, though I've greatly admired them on my peers, for they look absolutely cute, I just wasn't sure they were made for my body type.
With the heat pouring in I've decided to give them a shot. My one requirement being that they be cinched at the waist, of course. After all, they are the offspring of a dress and shorts.

GOOOOOOOOOL!!!

Every four years I put all girlyness aside and embrace the sport I grew up playing, watching, and loving. Yes, soccer is a giant deal, sorry LeBron and Kobe but the sport you dominate doesn't come close to bringing together as many people and nations as soccer. In a few weeks the world turns its focus to South Africa.
I'll be in the zone June 14th, where my one and only Italia will take on Paraguay. Until then I leave you with amazing Fifa anthems...

The Houston heat has set in, and I can't think of enough ways to cool  off.
If you can't chill by the pool all day bronzing, get some heat off your shoulders and cinch your hair into a pony with Bop Bijoux's fun rubber bands. Not only do they adorn your ponytails or buns, but they look adorable around your wrists!

Countdown has begun...

Only 10 days until I sprint to the nearest theater for a screening of S&C 2.  I can't remember life before Sex and the City, my earliest memory was watching it every Sunday on HBO with my bff Chiara, and immidiately trying to create wanna be imitations of Carrie's ensembles.
Well, once again, Carrie sports and I like...check out Jennifer Zeuner Jewels,  love the four leaf clover  she'll be sporting in the upcoming sequel.
