Cinched in NYC

In order to escape the scorching Houston heat, Cinched and her siblings escaped to NYC for a brief vacanza of walking, feasting, and shopping.

Aiming for a blister-free vacay, Cinched relied on comfy TOMS. Trotting the city like a complete tourist, I opted for my glitter TOMS because they go with any ensemble, avoiding the whole sneakers and fanny pack look.

Lodging
Though we planned on spending little time in our hotel, we decided to check out Ian Schrager's Gramercy Park Hotel. After checking into the checkered floor red curtain draped lobby, our NYC adventure begins.

Feasting
Craving to savor some taste from back home (Cinched was born in Venezuela), we began the feasting holiday at Caracas Arepa Bar in the East Village where we devoured tequeños, empanadas, and arepas washed down with some jugo de parchita and a marroncito.

Sipping Café marrón
After walking off our Venezuelan treat, we enjoyed a late dinner at Minetta Tavern, where I couldn't help but gobble an entire Steak n Frites. We also had our first celeb sighting, Mr. Bobby Flay.

Steamed Pork Buns at Momofuku Ssam Bar helped cure the one too many Elderflower cocktails we sipped at Rose Bar the previous evening.

After shopping down Bleecker Street we stroll down to Cafe Gitane for an amazing tower of Couscous.

Entertainment
Our vacanza was concluded with a Fuerza Bruta experience at the Daryl Roth Theater just blocks away from the Gramercy Park. I refer to Fuerza Bruta as an experience because simply calling it a show wouldn't do it justice. The choreographed experience includes a giant foil curtain, a suspended pool above the audience, acrobatic and aquatic dancing, a giant treadmill, confetti of sorts, water, interaction with the audience, and by far one of the best musical compositions I've heard. Yes, cinched was dancing along the entire time.
