A-line Hervé?

Terrified of the sausage like silhouette my size 8 figure might result in after cinching in a bandage dress, I´ve always admired Hervé Leger´s genius creations from afar. It´s not until the past week that I´ve discovered an A line Hervé I just might be able to pull off...now if only I could find this baby on sale. Until then, I will think of him everyday on the treadmill.

Chic Commute

Mama said there'd be days like this,
there'd be days like this, my mama said.
Dear God, Thank your for Monday and Tuesday,
By taking the humid heat,
You've poured sunshine and freshness in Houston
Blessing us with a fabulous week.

Its these types of days that I wish I commuted to work like so...

Extra Olives Please

Just as we order our dry martini's with extra olives, fall ensembles crave a hint of olive as well.  Execute the olive green trend with a pair of green cargo's (Leighton Meister's Vince Cargo Jean), an olive hue handbag (Balenciaga's Giant City Tote) or military inspired booties (Tory Burch ankle boot).

Hallo's Eve Warrior?

Tis four weeks away and Cinched has zero clue what she'd like to channel on Hallo's eve. Always mocking my ensembles, and well the ten minutes it takes me to buckle on my Belle by Sigerson Morrison sandal boots, my brilliant boyfriend suggested I go as a gladiator for Halloween. Naturally, I turn to the queen of pop for inspiration.

Barnyard Chic

Cinched must sincerely apologize for the lack of posts in the past two weeks. My excuse is a bad one I must confess, for I took a few days off to enjoy and well, rest from a marvelous weekend in Aspen to celebrate the union of Bailey and Peter. Four days of pure bliss, began with a festive evening on the mountain in barnyard finery attire. After a delicious dinner followed with peppermint ice cream the bride brought Texas to Aspen. Sporting a gorgeous fringe dress and copper cowboy boots,  Bailey danced the night away in a crowd of barnyard chic to the 80's hits performed by the Spazmatics.

Dunkin Chic

When I think of Dunkin Donuts, i immediately think, um stay far away because just breathing the air in the joint will make the hour of lunges and squats my trainer killed me this am with completely worthless. Needless to say, no i do not think of fashion when it comes to Dunkin Donuts. I leave it to my favorite photoblogger Tommy Ton to capture chic and dunkin all in one.

Aviator Heat

Not only has Burberry Prorsum managed to seduce me with their Shearling Boot with Buckles but as I'm sorting through my winter gear in preparation for the upcoming celebration of Bailey's wedding in Aspen, I couldn't help but lust after all of Christopher Bailey's Burberry Prorsum cozy Shearling lined beauties...

A bit short in cash to invest in one of the above marvelous creations, I have come across a fabulous alternative via Topshop

"Fire in Your New Shoes"

Cinched is the ultimate worst when it comes to playing disc jockey. Passionately enamored by one amazing song once a week, blasting it on repeat over and over for an entire week until everyone I encounter will absolutely hate it. Already gifting this song to my two best friends this am over itunes, you know who you are, I share with you my current fav.

Arrivederci Summer

Hoping everyone had an amazing and feckless Labor Day weekend, I am here to remind you of the changes you must encounter. The last weekend of summer has passed leaving the responsibilities of fall: work, school, events, and so on...all of which our wardrobe plays a major roll in. This year we've stored the slashed jeans and ripped tees with which we channeled Kate Moss's glam rock look last year, and we shift our wardrobe for a polished look that is somewhat lates 50's glam slash collegiate, after all every fall look airs a preppy feel that could'nt be better defined by

Its this time of year I miss High School the most. As strongly as we hated the restrictions our uniforms confined us to everyday, I pretty much wish I was still wearing a pleated skirt, button up oxford, and crisp navy blazer. It was so easy picking an outfit everyday till the age of eighteen, when creativity was merely expressed through our shoes, book bag, and jewels. To take the same approach I do every season, I pick three great pieces to get me through the season and assemble them with old goodies in my closet.

Fall Coloring

per
As we shift from summer to fall we must turn the color wheel of our wardrobes and adjust to the season’s colors. Storing our fuschias away we welcome warm tones that keep us cool. This season’s go to hue is camel. This timeless shade compliments almost any other hue, while adding sophistication to any look.
