Ghostlanding

Halston Heritage one shoulder chiffon little beige dress arrived today in the mail, I have my gold leaf headband awaiting my locks, and fun feathered wings to strap on my shoulders...all Cinched needs to kick off Halloween weekend is a bow and arrow because I will be channeling Cupid, the god of desire!
Cupid will be dancing the night away in the creepy fog and fabulous tunes of Ghostland.

Enjoy what I'll be enjoying tonight...

Not to mention following the fox to Fox Hollow for more candy and Halloween dancing!

Have a happy Halloween weekend everyone!

I wish you tons of candy this weekend, there is no better feeling than a sugar high.

SAG Swag Halloween

Adorable read The Summer We Read Gatsby has left me craving a roaring 20's themed ensemble, for one of the many soirees awaiting this weekend I turn to lively designer pal, Sarah Aghili,  for inspiration...

For a Gatsby themed weekend, Sarah's turquoise Fringe Dress makes a perfect dancing frock.

In the spirit of the Holiday, a skull cardi and skirt make a perfect pumpkin carving separates.

Little Sartorial Rockstars

Obsessed with all things sartorial and well all things relating to godmother-hood, I have come across an amazing label for the little ones, FINGER IN THE NOSE.

A lot of authenticity a touch of "Rock & Roll attitude," combined with a dose of functionality, our jeans and sportswear collection successfully unites the look of an adult garment with the need of a child's comfort- Finger in the Nose

Better than Rosetta Stone...

There isn't anything worst than sporting a piece from a major fashion house whose name you can not pronounce. Well fashionistas, Cinched has a solution.

A lesson in fashion...

Threads to Wear: Threadware

Always smitten by silhouette flattering threads, Cinched has a mad crush on Threadware, an NYC based label debuting this Spring. In sanguine hues for Spring, Threadware pieces charm the shoulders and waist resulting in an impeccably cinched feminine figure. Whether you're cavorting around town or slaving long hours at the office, Threadware's swoon-worthy frocks are flawlessly executed to suit any occasion.

"Threadware was inspired by our belief that clothing should be inventive and accentuate a woman's best features,"  masterminds behind the line, sisters Amy and Rachel Gelender.

With Amy's marketing background and Rachel's creative genius the sister duo has created an enchanting  line comprised of artistic prints and soft feminine details.
"I think about women who want to express their style in an artistic way and still emphasize their femininity.  I often get inspiration from my friends or even women who I pass on the streets of New York."- Rachel

A collection of simple yet striking pieces with palatable tag prices, Threadware's
"silk tops and dresses combines artistic prints, flirtatious details, and figure-flattering silhouettes to create a collection that is edgy, playful and supremely wearable. " - Rachel & Amy

Threadware is a modern romantic line we anxiously await to hit the stores.

Tackling Mt. Everest

Isn't a perk of growing old the absence of acne? I guess not, because I woke up one day older and one Mount Everest growing out the side of my chin. I run to the nearest Mario Badescu retailer to find that they are out of my favorite pimple battling weapon, their Drying Lotion. Pointing to my chin, or should I say Mount Everest, I beg the sales clerk for the next best thing...tis when I was introduced to my new best friend: Mario Badescu Drying Cream. Not only does this cream tackle my uglies all day, but it also helps conceal them. It goes on perfectly after moisturizer and before makeup.

New Toy, new bag

Yesterday afternoon Cinched headed to Neiman's Mariposa Cafe for a lovely lunch in the company of her best friend's mom, Ms. Lesa. After delightful conversation over monkey bread and tortilla soup, we attempted to tackle the overflowing Apple store in search of new toys. A couple of hours of interrogating our Apple techie, we happily trotted home with new hardware.
Of all things I forgot to purchase protection for my new Macbook Pro, so in the search for a perfect new sleeve I came across these luxe sleeves...

A bit over my price range, but nonetheless adorable...

Ready for a Treat

After Lauren Bush graced her hometown with her line Lauren Alterier, of soft dresses adorned with FEED bags I've developed a major crush on FEED's Trick or Treat bag. Not only does it make a perfect bag to collect treats but also a great everyday tote.

Fashion Week Wrap Up

The week was long and perhaps one of my favorites. Models, designers, and local fashioninas invaded the Wortham Center for Houston's first official Fashion Week. An ultimate success, the week was graced with shows from Marc Bouwer, Lauren Alterier, Christian Siriano, Netaporter, and Pucci
Cinched sprinted to the front row accompanied by sartorial pals, Sarah Aghili, Kalon Joseph Reid McMahon, and Saba Jawda.

Biking Birkin

If this isn't a photoshoot or some new reality tv show then I bow down to Olivia for strapping her birkin on this bike and steering those bike pedals in those Pradas...please dont scuff them, too pretty.
The first thing I thought of when I saw this pic in the Sartorialist is how my dad would only let me ride my bike in jeans and closed toes shoes...ja nice leather bloomies Olivia, you've inspired me to ride my cycle to work...doubt I will look as sartorial as you.

Lauren Pierce Atelier

Houston Fashion Week's second evening was graced by Lauren Bush's earthy linens and tie dye hues from her Spring 2011 collection of Lauren Pierce. The relaxed frocks trotted down the runway in bare feet and FEED project bags.

The designer's grandparents George H.W. and Barbara Bush admired the collection from front row.

Houston Fashion Week...

Wait really? My jaw dropped as well when I first heard that Houston was hosting a fashion week at Wortham Center. I either thought, it will never go through or it will be incredibly lame. Well, Cinched was wrong, and I couldn't be more content. The Audi sponsored fashion show kicked off with Cesar Galindo, Lynn Devon, and Christian Siriano. My fav, Christian Siano's fluffy ending number.

Katyland

In great respect and adoration for her Candyland themed music video Cinched has developed a major crush on Katy Perry's ensembles. How marvelous would it be to recreate them for the costume season?
