The Sartorialist
Once I spoke the language of the flowers,
Once I understood each word the caterpillar said,
Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,
And shared a conversation with the housefly
in my bed.
Once I heard and answered all the questions
of the crickets,
And joined the crying of each falling dying
flake of snow,
Once I spoke the language of the flowers. . . .
How did it go?
How did it go?

("Forgotten Language" by Shel Silverstein)

Givenchy LBD

Though I know everyone is raving about the stunning gowns that glittered the Academy Awards last night, only one LBD really spoke to me amongst the paparazzi images. In a Givenchy black number and Jimmy Choo sandals, Nicky Hilton looks stunning.

Perse Crush

Though I love everything behind the simplistic nature of James Perse, I've got a major crush on a fleece sweatshirt dress. Dress up with a glam necklace or simply make it your weekend dress, either way you will be comfortable and stunning.

Happy Day Texans!

The end of February for us Texans means digging up our rusty boots and hitting the Rodeo cook off for some bbq. Unfortunately I have been home sick and will not be able to show off my Lucheses this weekend. However, wouldn't this D&G gingham top be perfect for the Rodeo?

I woke up this AM with my morning yawn/ stretch reaching for bedside telephone to order an egg white omelette. I end up knocking over a water bottle and spilling on my cellphone, home sweet home. Oh how I miss room service.
I'll be back soon Trump Soho...

Cinched Brr in NYC

Last Friday was one of the first glorious sunny days NYC has been blessed with this year,  I mean glorious as in short sleeves in February. When I packed for my recent NYC trip I read there was going to be this glorious weather, jamming spring coats and chic non comfy boots into my brief case. Boy was I wrong... Friday was a giant TEASE. Saturday's temps dropped to about 15 degrees and the 50 mph winds blew right through my thin coats and tripped me...if only I were wearing this adorable puffer Rachel Bilson sported at Burberry show in London this week...

Spring is in the air, what better way to add spring hues to your ensemble than stacking Alexis Bittar  skinny bangels on your wrists.

Its Monday, and I'm Blue

Blue because that's always the color I feel when I leave NYC.
And blue because I'm absolutely crushing on this Celine envelope clutch.

She's got legs...

She knows how to use them.
She never begs,
She knows how to choose them.

Iro Bregie Gym Short @singer22
Just came across these on Singer22. Yep, I'm going to the gym so I can perhaps cinch into these come heat blazing Houston summer.

Buon Giorno NYC

A screetching fire alarm woke me at 6am, so I might as well  try to get some cardio in at my hotel gym but first check out the view I woke up to from the Trump Soho, stellar.

Celeb sighting, woop woop

So at an amazing dinner at Mario Batalli's Babbo a familiar man was sitting at the table next to us. The second he pulls out his iphone i realize its the Mac dude! The guy that I think is dating Drew Barrymore. Anyways, dinner was magnificent. If you are in the city have the grilled branzino and request Vinny as your waiter.

This guy....I honestly didn't look up until he spoke I heard his familiar voice, he's kind of cute in person.

Prepping NYC

I'm pretty sure a tornado has swooped though my room and closet as I pack for NYC. Marvelously the weather will not include ice or snow so I shall leave these puppies behind!
Anything I shall check out besides the gloriousness occurring this week?

Cinched Artists

I couldn't help but share what stunning ensembles local artists Caroline Schiller and Carmen Reed were spotted wearing this weekend. Cinched in statement skirts, the two enchanted an art-thristy crowd with love bleeding canvases at Love is RealBe sure to stop by Salon Ceron this month to see their marvelous creations.

Vday Monday

Because there is nothing I need more than caffeine on a Monday I thought these coffee cup sleeves to be perfectly suiting this Valentine's Day. Cinch your loved one's cafe cup in one of these babies...

Facing Fear

For the new year I decided to tackle a fear/ talent I extremely lack...because I'm already taking a Digital Photography class at Glassell, i figured there would be no harm in taking up  an intro Drawing class as well. Oh boy, just as I imagined I'm the only rookie in there that didn't even know what a kneading eraser is...everyone else in my class is a genius and no where near intro...I might be in the advanced class and haven't noticed. For our first homework assignment we were instructed to draw a still life. If I'm going to be drawing an object it might as well be something I love staring we go took me like three hours to get this...

any of you drawers out there, how do i get the handle to look real?

Prequel, really?

Rumor has it there will be a Sex & the City Prequel...starring none other than our fav young starlet Blake Lively as Carrie Bradshaw. "Studio bosses are in talks to fill the glamour void with a prequel film, following the success of Candace Bushnell’s bestselling book The Carrie Diaries, about the teenage years of her heroine.  Candace has just finished a second novel called Summer And The City, which takes up where Diaries left off and follows 19-year-old Carrie’s move from Connecticut to NYC. SATC producer Michael Patrick King has already expressed interest in adapting the book for the big screen – and he wants Blake Lively to play the young Carrie" (Grazia).

Da Love

Amist the freezing temperatures I'm feeling the glittery red pink and heart filled valentine's vibes this week.  I know Valentine's day might have been a made up holiday for Hallmark and Papyrus to boost up sales but  any day that celebrates LOVE is okay in my book. I can't wait to send out my valentine cards, remember to not just get something for your man-friend but your mommy and friends as well!

Sunday Bowl

Who are you cheering for?
To be honest I'm not quite sure I know how the beloved American sport is played but I will join my manfriend in watching the big bowl. I'm loving Marisa Miller's leather pants. If only some day i could cinch my thunder thighs into one of these skinny leathers, but all I can think of is the episode of Friends where Ross Gellar  begins to sweat and must baby powder his way out of them, jajaja.

Snow Day

The city of Houston has been preparing all week for a highly anticipated snow day. Schools and offices have closed for what was forecasted to be a white powder friday...Except that it did NOT snow. Either way, I will share my bundled ensemble with you.

I recently discovered that my Fendi Peek-a-Boo brought a long attachable strap, the grandest thing. So much easier to have free hands when trotting around with such a large handbag (which I don't know why but I tend to favor giant purses).

Cinched Houston: Best Latte

Dear Houstonians,
Cinched has decided to share the tiny details that make her hometown just as splendid as it is. With the ultra chilly weather I must begin with the city's best perfectly foamed latte from none other than my favorite eatery, Tiny Boxwoods.

Stay Cinched & warm,

Weather Envy

I swear this isn't turning into a celebrity fashion blog, but I came across this image and just had to share. First of all how jealous am I of Rachel Bilson that she is wearing sandals right now. I'm pretty sure I have on double layered cashmere socks. And second how adorable does she look mixing the neutral beiges of this season adorned with a pop of a tangerine hue Vanessa Bruno jacket.

Brian's Lola

"Every woman has a moment [when] she’s so excited about a pair of shoes. They have the ability to transform your attitude and the way you look—your legs are longer, your butt’s higher. It’s that magical moment when women feel sexy and own it” - Brian Atwood
Shoe genius Brian Atwood is responsible for this masterpiece...

The Lola, a favored pump among young hollywood starlets is just heavenly. Oh how I would love to cinch my paws in a pair of Lolas.

In the Trenches

As we've watched her turn into a starlett on the big screen and a fashion icon in Burberry's 2010 campaign, Cinched can't help but crush on Emma Watson and her trench topped ensembles. The young darling gives the classic trench a modern twist.

Images per: lowefactor, coolspotters, dailymail
Though Cinched wishes she had a fancy penny for Burberry Trench coats, I've come across an adorable more affordable option. Found at Singer22 is Vedas's Washington canvas/leather trench.

Oh Rihanna...

Always spotted in daring ensembles it is no suprise that her latest video's costume design would blow us away. From complex headpieces to tricolored platforms , Rihanna's S&M music video is the latest buzz in the interweb today.

Though the title might be misleading, the new single is not about sex, its a stab the singer is taking at the media, mostly paparazzis and gossip bloggers. "I don't think of it in a sexual way, I'm thinking metaphorically," the 22-year-old singer recently told Spin. "People are going to talk about you, you can't stop that. You just have to be that strong person and know who you are so that stuff just bounces off" (mydailynews).  This kind of reminds me of when Britney tried to explain her "Slave for You" single as she was a slave for the music, jaja. Nonetheless I love both artists.
